“Famine Heroes” Virtual Events

The National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park and the Irish Heritage Trust have launched the Great Famine Voices Roadshow 2020 “Famine Heroes” virtual events season of documentaries and online lectures taking place from October 4 – October 25. 

These virtual events provide uplifting stories about coping with an epidemic and pay tribute to caregivers, both in the mid-nineteenth century and today. They are funded by the Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Programme. All are welcome to join the post-show discussions which take place on 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th October. Strokestown Park House & The National Famine Museum & Café are  currently closed for redeveopment. In spring 2022 the new, state-of-the-art National Famine Museum and Visitor Centre will be launched.
