Culture Night Event at Strokestown Park Friday 17th September

For this year’s Culture Night, Friday 17th September 2021, Enchanted Croi Theatre in collaboration with The Irish Heritage Trust, brings to you a unique spectacle of Live Outdoor Drama and Digital Theatre in the Walled Gardens of Strokestown Park – all based on the diary and letters of Olive Pakenham Mahon, written between 1914 and 1921.

In the Strokestown Park Archive, a locked diary, and a bundle of love letters have been opened. Secrets, under lock and key for a century. The Story of Life behind the Demesne Gate during the War of Independence.

Assemble at the steps of Strokestown Park House at 6.45pm sharp on Culture Night. The ghost of Olive Pakenham Mahon will emerge from the Big House and guide you through her Enchanted Garden. Our digital theatre performance will be on view in the recently-refurbished Slip Garden.

Free Event – no booking necessary. Duration circa 2 hours. Refreshments and toilets available. Warm outdoor clothing recommended. Wheelchair accessible over hard surfaces. Walking time circa 20 mins.
