Rhubarb Crumble???

Rhubarb Crumble?????

Great weather?? Well even though the weather has been fairly bad to say the least a lot has gone on in the Walled Gardens our bedding display is planted out and so far it is true rabbits do not like Marigolds. The Sweet Pea are out too all a bit shocked by the heavy rain. This is really ideal weather for Slugs and also a few very humid days so Potato Blight is always a worry. We are using copper based organic Slug Pellets and the potatoes have been sprayed with Bordeaux Mixture (blue stone & washing soda). The woodlands are looking great too the pieces of Sculpture, for The Roscommon Schools Sculpture Competition, have settled in nicely. At the moment there is lots of rhubarb coming into The Woodland Walk Cafe in Strokestown Park so some lovely Rhubarb Crumble and Tarts being made. The image this week was taken by one of our visitors (Tony Carton from Celbridge) and it shows how the walled Gardens abounds with all sorts of Wildlife. Great picture thank you Tony.
