THE FREEMANS
JOURNAL - APRIL 29th 1848 This article was published by the local
bishop, Bishop George Browne in an effort to publicise the extreme
conditions experienced by the Irish tenants on the Strokestown estate. It
includes a list of the names of some 3006 people who had been evicted from
